How to Make Better-then-takeout Homemade Pizza

How to Make Better-then-takeout Homemade Pizza

After a lot of trial and error, my husband has come up with a method that produces an excellent pizza every time. Save time by using a ready-made pizza dough and your favorite jarred tomato sauce, or make your own from scratch. If using a ready-made pizza dough, be sure it has warmed to room temperature for easier rolling.  Customize this pizza with as many toppings as you like!

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons italian seasoning blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 jar spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups Mozarella Cheese (Shredded )
  • fresh vegetables or other desired toppings

Directions

Prepare Pizza Dough
Step 1
First heat a pizza stone in a 500 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Roll out pizza dough.
Roll out dough and season with Italian seasoning blend, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic.
Step 3
Transfer pizza dough to hot pizza stone.
Pull the hot pizza stone out of the oven. Carefully transfer the prepared dough onto the pizza stone. Roll the edges of the dough to form a crust. Bake the pizza dough at 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
Assemble Pizza
Step 4
Now it's time to assemble the pizza. Spread about 1/2 a jar of prepared spaghetti sauce onto the crust.
Step 5
Add desired toppings (I used peppers, onions, and ham).
Step 6
Sprinkle with 1-2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake for 15 minutes at 350° until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
