Three Cheese Baked Ziti

Baked Ziti is one of my favorite foods and is also one of the first recipes I learned how to cook.  You can use your favorite pasta and your favorite tomato sauce.  I like to experiment with the recipe and will sometimes include fresh or dried herbs (basil, oregano, and parsley all work well), Parmesan cheese, and even canned diced tomatoes.  I like to serve this dish with a salad and a fresh loaf of Italian bread.

Cook time 30 minutes

  • 1 box Ziti
  • 1 jar Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 15oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • dash Nutmeg
  • dash Pepper


Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package.
Step 3
In an oven safe bowl mix the tomato sauce, egg, and ricotta cheese.
Step 4
Add the garlic, nutmeg, and pepper, mix well.
Step 5
Stir in one cup of mozzarella cheese and one cup of cheddar cheese. Reserve the remaining cheese for the topping.
Step 6
Add the ziti and stir until coated.
Step 7
Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
Step 8
Bake for 30 minutes.
